Matthew 5:16, Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Have you ever needed to get somewhere, but it was so dark you couldn’t find your way? The darkness literally kept you from getting where you needed to be? If only you could find a little light to shine in the darkness, you would be able to see enough to make it.
The Bible says that we are the “light” of the world, but we make a difference when we let our light shine! It’s when others see our good works; our deeds, acts, and things done that are beautiful, kind, honest, fair and good that we shine for Christ. And when we shine our light, we pierce the darkness in their world and the path to Christ is illuminated for them to find the way. Wow! Do you know anyone who is bound by darkness? Is there any way you can let your light shine before them this week? Our lives should always be so pleasing to the Father that we bring glory to His name, and as you shine they, too, will see and glorify Him.
God has planted you where you are to be a light. Let it shine bright to everyone everywhere, especially where it’s the darkest. You may be the only light they see. Luke 8:16 says, “No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.
